BLOG of the WEEK - WINNER

BLOG of the WEEK
WINNER
last week
was the talented
'LEXIE'

I asked Lexie a few questions to help us get to know her a bit better.

1. What crafts do you do?
" Mainly cardmaking but I also cross stitch and occasionally do some knitting as well. I used to love knitting mohair jumpers but haven't made one for years. Shall have to dig my knitting needles out again some day."

2. How long have you been crafting and why did you start?
" I started off by knitting baby clothes for my Godson. His nana taught me to knit around about 20 years ago and it started there. I then moved onto cross stitch (which I still do when I have time) and then cardmaking around about 10 years ago. But then life got in the way after about a year and I didn't get the chance to do any cardmaking again until almost 3 years ago. And I've not stopped since then."

3. How would you describe your style of craft?
"I like clean crafting rather than getting all inky. I do that sometimes for a change and to do something different (I like to vary things) but I really lean towards neat, clean cards and pretty shaped easels. I love seeing loads of embellies on cards, but I really dare that on my own projects. "

4. Who / what is your inspiration?
" I don't think I really have one person or just a couple of people who have inspired me...more like everyone out there who has blogs to display their creations. There are so many very talented crafters out there and going through the blogs always gives plenty of inspiration. And recently I've became involved with Heather Valentin's Lacy Sunshine business and I think we're both inspiring each other. Heather's an artist and I'm a crafter so we're constantly inspiring each other to come up with new ideas and to try different things that we wouldn't usually try and it seems to be working. "

5. How long have you been blogging and why did you start?
"I've been blogging for around 16 months now and the reason I started (and the only reason as I didn't see the point at the time) was because Linda Simpson nagged and nagged at me until I gave in and started one just to keep her quiet, lol. And now I'm really glad I did as I love it and wouldn't be without my blog now. You make so many friends through blogging and also it gives you a great record of what you've done and how you've done it as well as opening a lot of doors which would otherwise have remained closed. I love blogging and I'm glad that Linda Simpson is so great at nagging! Lol."

Fantastic, thanks for sharing Lexie

  6. Hi Lexie, and congratulations, you did not mention
how much you inspire other crafters ( I know you wouldn't actually mention this as it's not your way to blow your own trumpet)
but you do INSPIRE all those crafters that know you. xxx
